Most interesting, but there is a problem which–I am sure–even the good reverend probably wouldn’t want to admit; and that is that even if Black children, teenagers, and young men & women were willing to go back to the farm, or to do janitorial work, coud they, once on the farm or in the employment of a janitor, succeed? Both farming and janitorial work require basic cognitional understanding, an intellectual fundament which Black people do not have. I’m afraid the only solution open to them–that is, if they really wanted to be productive–is slavery.
